Slite’s Ask feature is complex, fully realized production use of NLP—and is not simply another case of a product that wraps GPT or OpenAI endpoints, for its pipeline is much more complex. I worked with others on this project, and mainly played the role of an adviser on NLP technologies throughout, from early presentations of possible NLP strategies, to explaining the features and limits of various approaches, to full internal technical write-ups describing the entire stack that we built.

I have a long trajectory in NLP dating back even before transformers arrived and following their progression into the sphere of practical work, so this represented another chance to put my knowledge towards a real feature, which was conceived and launched in a very short time frame.
